Bio
John Weyl was born and raised in Burlington, Iowa. His formal education began in Burlington, Iowa schools which he attended through junior college. His education continued acquiring a Bachelor or Arts degree in art education from the University of Northern Iowa. After one year of teaching are and meeting his future wife in Estherville, Iowa he served two years in the U.S. Army. Starting in 1962 he taught junior high school art in Burlington,Iowa for the next four years.
In 1966 he began his thirty-one year art teaching career at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. During these years he managed to stay involved with his own art producing paintings, prints, and jewelry. Since his retirement from teaching in 1997 he has continued to be active with his own work.
